
MINSK, 16 August (BelTA) - The 32nd Belarusian Written Language Day will take place in Lida on 6-7 September, BelTA learned from the Information Ministry of Belarus.
This year's event honors several major anniversaries the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, 500 years since the publication of Francysk Skaryna's Apostle and also birthdays of prominent Belarusian literary figures.
The ceremonial opening of the festival and the awards ceremony of the winners of the National Literary Prize and the Lida Readings will take place on 6 September.
The Information Ministry will traditionally organize the Book and Press Festival offering visitors the opportunity to explore the latest releases of Belarus' publishing industry. Event highlights include the interactive zones hosted by the Belarusian Youth Union (BRSM), the Belarusian Women's Union, libraries and media outlets of Grodno Oblast, sports and children's activity areas, food courts and promotional tours of Lida's cultural landmarks.
