Let's tell the story of Victors together! BelTA is looking for relatives of 1945 Victory Parade participants

MINSK, 18 December (BelTA) - In 2025, the Belarusian news agency BelTA together with the 7 Days newspaper will launch a large-scale project for the 80th anniversary of the Victory. For a whole year we will be telling the stories about the Belarusians who took part in the first Victory Parade. And we need our readers' help.

These people went through the battles of Stalingrad and Kursk, liberated Belarus, many of them reached Berlin. On 24 June 1945, they marched victoriously through Red Square in Moscow. The first post-war Victory Parade featured those who had distinguished themselves in battles and were awarded battle orders. Thousands of soldiers and officers, among whom there were more than 300 Belarusians, took part in the parade. Unfortunately, we do not know the names and fates of all of them. This is why we decided to reach out and ask our readers for help.

If you are a relative or friend of a frontline soldier who took part in the Victory Parade on Red Square, Moscow, in June 1945 and you are willing to share your family story and photos with us, please call +375 17 311 33 17 or send an e-mail to ygavrilenko@belta.by .

Many feats of heroes of the Great Patriotic War are still known only to their families and close friends. We want to change this. Let's tell the story of our Victors together.
