Lawyers' unions of Belarus, Estonia establish cooperation

MINSK, 30 June (BelTA) – The unions of lawyers of Belarus and Estonia have established cooperation. The relevant memorandum was signed by Valery Mitskevich and Mai Palmipuu, the heads of the unions, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Union of Lawyers.

“One of the goals of the Union of Lawyers is to promote our organization internationally and establish ties with public associations of lawyers from other countries. Members of the union want to have an opportunity to exchange best practices, information, and experience with lawyers from abroad,” the website reads.

The Belarusian Union of Lawyers have already signed agreements with the International Union of Lawyers and associations and unions of lawyers of Russia, China, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Armenia, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Latvia, and Lithuania. It continues working to conclude international agreements with public associations of other countries.

The Union of Lawyers of Estonia, which is a non-profit association, has more than 500 members. It was founded by 144 members on 10 March 1989. The union brings together judges, attorneys, notaries, and lawyers working in various areas of law. Their main goal is to protect professional interests of their members, support and promote Estonia as a rule-of-law state.
