Lack of disturbance on single voting day in Belarus attributed to lessons learned in 2020

MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – Events of the year 2020 have been analyzed very well and the 2024 elections proceeded in a calm situation in Belarus, BelTA learned from Aleksandr Tishchenko, an expert on national security, in the information center of Belarus’ Central Election Commission.

Aleksandr Tishchenko said: “The elections that happen in our country proceed in a totally different dimension. A good after-action review took place after 2020.”

The expert noted that the elections proceeded in a calm manner and Belarusians actively cast their votes. “We are no longer distracted by some things that used to be present in Belarus due to certain overindulgence. It doesn’t happen anymore. People get honest and sincere information. They see perfectly well how elections proceed and who participate in them. They are not overburdened with something that may aggravate the public situation,” he believes.
