MINSK, 25 January (BelTA) – Belarus’ Minister of Internal Affairs Ivan Kubrakov and Minister of Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage of Zimbabwe Kazembe Kazembe have signed a memorandum of cooperation aimed at increasing the criminal prevention potential of the two countries, BelTA learned from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Ivan Kubrakov is on a working visit to Zimbabwe. At the meeting with President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa, the Belarusian minister emphasized that the personal involvement of the two heads of state gave a strong impetus to bilateral foreign policy, trade and economic relations.

“It is a great honor for me that you have found the opportunity to host us. I convey the best regards and wishes of health and well-being from your friend, Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. Before the trip, the head of state set the task: to resolve all issues that might emerge and to provide all kinds of assistance at the highest level. We will do everything to ensure that the police of your country perform their tasks efficiently. We are ready to share skills, expertise and knowledge and equipment,” the minister of internal affairs emphasized.

Emmerson Mnangagwa remarked that during a recent meeting at an international forum, Aleksandr Lukashenko reassured that Belarus is ready to provide assistance to Zimbabwe. And the current meeting is the best proof of this. “I am happy that we have developed such a solid friendship and excellent relations. I am sure that together with the minister of home affairs of Zimbabwe, you will determine the main areas for the training of our specialists. Most of all, I am interested in the training of special forces,” President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa said as he outlined the desirable areas of cooperation with Belarus.
