Krutoi: Social policy remains in focus of Belarusian government

MINSK, 17 January (BelTA) – Belarus prioritizes social policy, Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi told the media after visiting the renovated pediatric unit of the Clinical Maternity Hospital in Minsk Oblast, BelTA has learned.

"According to the country's budget 2025, all expenditures on healthcare, education, and social policy will be increased by 13-15%. With the economy growing by 4.1% (this is the planned growth of our GDP), social expenditures will go up by 15%. This implies reallocation of funds from other areas and prioritization of social policy," Dmitry Krutoi stated.

The president declared the Year of Improvement. It is quite natural that the country will allocate more funds to this area, Dmitry Krutoi noted.
He also drew attention to the large number of new and renovated social facilities. "People know that we put all social institutions in order, especially in the districts. Every year we open new ones. If earlier it was mainly by 7 November, now we do practically all year round," he said adding that such work yields a positive effect.

“We have built 130 healthcare facilities across the country in four years. There are 118 districts in the country,” Dmitry Krutoi remarked.

According to him, the efforts to build new facilities and renovate old ones are welcomed by people. The President Administration works with citizens' addresses and complaints. Their analysis has shown that the number of questions about accessibility to these facilities has decreased by an order of magnitude. “Indeed, as the president pointed out, there are still queues in polyclinics. Sometimes it is difficult to schedule an appointment with a doctor. This problem needs to be solved and we are on it as well as on some other issues,” he said.
“The state is doing and investing huge resources in these institutions, in these sectors. This fact is indisputable. No one will argue with this, and we will increase our focus on this policy," Dmitry Krutoi added.
