Krutoi lays flowers at Tomb of Unknown Soldier in Moscow

MOSCOW, 1 July (BelTA) - Head of the Belarus President Administration Dmitry Krutoi laid a wreath from the Belarusian Embassy in Russia at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin Wall in Moscow on 1 July. The ceremony took place in honor of the Independence Day of Belarus and the 80th anniversary of the country's liberation from Nazi invaders, BelTA has learned.

The ceremony was attended by State Secretary of the Union State Dmitry Mezentsev, representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, integration agencies and Belarusian diplomats.

Flowers were also laid at the memorial plates Minsk Hero City and Brest Hero Fortress in the Alexander Garden. The ceremony ended with a march-past of the honor guard company.

"It was a great honor for me to complete my work as the ambassador of Belarus to Russia on Red Square, near the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier as we celebrate such a significant day for our country - the 80th anniversary of liberation from the Nazis and our Independence Day," Dmitry Krutoi told reporters.

He added that the Belarusian side has prepared a large-scale program of events in Russia for the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus.
