MINSK, 11 July (BelTA) – The West is going out of its way to maintain its elusive hegemony, Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said at the plenary session of the 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum in St. Petersburg. The plenary session discussed the role of parliaments in improving the efficiency of international relations and ensuring their democratization,” BelTA has learned.

“Today everyone understands that the crises unfolding in a number of regions of the world are a direct consequence of external interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states. They are the results of dirty attempts of the so-called collective West to preserve its elusive hegemony at any cost, disregarding the interests of its own people and the interests of the entire world community,” noted Natalya Kochanova.

“Overt use of technologies of color revolutions, hysteria in social media and instant messengers, spikes in social aggression, unprecedented illegitimate sanctions, terrorist attacks... This is just the tip of the iceberg of what the countries present here have experienced in just a few years. Technologies are becoming more aggressive and sophisticated, and their impact more destructive and irreversible. An unprecedented crisis in regional and international security threatens to turn conflicts into an all-out world war that will see no winners,” Natalya Kochanova said.
