MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) - The policy of militarization and military confrontation is unnatural for us, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said as she addressed the 4th Eurasian Women's Forum in St. Petersburg on 18 September, BelTA has learned.
“No one has the right to determine the fate of Belarus. This applies to every state,” Natalya Kochanova said. “Belarus is a full-fledged member of the international family, and in the current conditions of globalization, the internal well-being of our state largely depends on the external situation. We, women, have no moral right to remain indifferent to everything that is happening in the world.
According to the speaker, the overseas military lobby is bloodthirsty parasitizing on the grief of millions of people, pitting nations that have lived in harmony for centuries against each other, fueling conflicts in different parts of the planet with weapons and banned munitions. “The red lines are increasingly blurred, which creates the threat of a real world war that will have no winners. At a time when Belarusian women and women from countries friendly to us call to stop bloodshed and start peace negotiations immediately, some female politicians in the West, contrary to the main mission of all women on this earth - to be a source of inspiration and creation, to prevent conflicts, to reconcile countries and peoples, call for militarization, military confrontation and increasing arms supplies. Such a policy is unnatural for us,” Natalya Kochanova said.
