Kochanova: People should not feel impact of sanctions

MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly, Belarusian president's representative in Minsk Natalya Kochanova met with heads of district administrations of Minsk on 11 April, BelTA has learned.

“Today I would like to discuss a number of issues that we need to deal with. First of all, these are economic issues. You remember the triune task set by the head of state: prices, employment, wages. This task is still on the agenda and all of us should work on it. The task is very clear: people should not feel the impact of the sanctions,” Natalya Kochanova said.

Head of the information and analysis department of the Secretariat of the Council of the Republic Yekaterina Rechits told journalists that such meetings are meant to discuss the most pressing issues facing the capital city. “Today, the focus was on the economy. Natalya Kochanova emphasized the relevance of the triune task that had earlier been set by the head of state. She noted that our people should not experience any negative effects from the sanctions. In addition, the speaker also drew attention to the guidelines and tasks the head of state voiced at the recent meeting of the Security Council. In particular, these tasks have to do with wages, working conditions, pricing amidst the sanctions. Natalya Kochanova recalled that it is necessary to keep an eye on prices and prevent unreasonable price rises,” Yekaterina Rechits said.

Western European countries have recently faced food shortages. “The Republic of Belarus has no such problems at the moment. We have absolutely all the products in the required amount and assortment, and today our people do not experience any negative consequences,” she added.
