MINSK, 29 May (BelTA) – People are at the core of the policies of Belarus and China; the two countries' foreign policy priorities are peace, harmony, sovereignty and independence, Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus Natalya Kochanova said as she met with Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress of China Zhao Leji, BelTA has learned.
“Our countries have been strategic partners and iron-clad brothers for decades, showing the world community an example of strong, unbreakable friendship and mutual trust. First of all, the credit for this goes to our leaders. They are outstanding politicians of the global scale, true people's leaders and patriots who are entirely devoted to serving their country and people,” said Natalya Kochanova. “Regular visits at the high and highest levels are important for our interstate relations. Meetings of our leaders have given a powerful impetus to traditional areas of cooperation and brought it to an unprecedented level of all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnership,” she continued.
The meetings that took place during the official visit of the Belarusian parliamentary delegation to China once again showed that our states have similar policies, the speaker noted. “Belarus and China are people-powered countries. The foreign policy priorities of the two countries are peace, harmony, sovereignty and independence, non-interference in internal affairs of other states. I am confident that our visit will add momentum to bilateral cooperation in absolutely all areas,” emphasized Natalya Kochanova.
