Kochanova: Peace and calm in Belarus depend on each of us

MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) – Peace and tranquility in Belarus depend on each of us, Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova said at the sixth session of the Council of the Republic, BelTA has learned.

In her words, the situation at the Belarusian-Polish border did not leave anyone indifferent in our country. It was Belarus, not Western countries, that lent a helping hand to the refugees.

“Of course, the West showed its true colors. It was impossible to look into the eyes of these children. It is staggering to see them playing politics with the refugees' fate. It is shocking. Human life is worth nothing,” said Natalya Kochanova.

The speaker added: a hybrid war is going on against Belarus and Russia. “And if we want to save our country, we should not think that someone else will do it for us. Peace and tranquility in our country depend on each of us. We should not wait for any instructions. The president sets out absolutely clear and comprehensible tasks. It is necessary to communicate our position to people and explain the current situation to them. This way we will thwart attempts to disintegrate our country. An open hybrid war is going on against Russia and Belarus. And we, senators, need to step up our efforts in all areas. Reach out to people, talk to them, because the future of our country hinges on it. And believe me, these are not just nice words,” said the chairperson of the Council of the Republic.
