MINSK, 3 November (BelTA) – Chair of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly Natalya Kochanova hosted a meeting on 3 November to discuss the development of the area within the boundaries of Kuibysheva Street - Masherova Street - Krasnaya Street - Kiseleva Street by the Horizont holding company, BelTA has learned.
The meeting discussed the implementation of the concept approved by the head of state to launch innovative production on the premises of the Horizont holding company in Minsk. “Today we have gathered to review how the president's order on the comprehensive development of this territory and innovative production is being fulfilled. We drafted a schedule of the comprehensive development of these premises. Therefore, I would like to hear how this very important project is proceeding,” Natalya Kochanova said.
The meeting was hosted by the Council of the Republic. “However, in the run-up to the New Year we will meet again on your territory,” the speaker noted.
The project concept relies on innovative solutions in the field of artificial intelligence, high-speed telecommunication systems and energy-efficient LED technologies. The project seeks to create a unique territory of advanced technology and industrial innovations, a modern R&D cluster to develop and commercialize new solutions, create new jobs, accumulate the country's intellectual potential on the site of the enterprise - the NeoPark innovation and production center. This is to be done within the current five-year plan.
According to Director General of the Horizont holding company Yuri Predko, the project consists of three stages. The first stage was launched this year and should be completed in 2023. “A plan was approved. It has been agreed with all interested parties,” he said.
According to the director general, NeoPark is a unique project for Belarus. “NeoPark will house innovative manufactures and, of course, will make innovative goods. Work is now underway on the first solution - smart electricity control. In fact, it is an innovative smart socket. It will feature a set of functions: to give electricity, to control it. Today it is quite in demand, and we already have the first order from a large company for approximately 1 million products per year," he said. “We eye everything that is related to smart house and smart city. We make the control system, including the image control. The television set today has outgrown its function. These are smart products that are voice-controlled and that pick up wireless signals."
Yuri Predko emphasized that today Horizont manufactures about 300 models of products. "Moreover, we refresh our lineup every six months. Innovative products make up about 70%. Export has surged by 60% year-on-year. Our export did not shrink last year or this year," the director general noted.
Inna Kovaleva, director of Horizont - Belinvest - Developer, added that Horizont's products have always been affordable to consumers. "The quality is not inferior to foreign analogues and even better in some ways. “Horizont has always worked for people. We work with very strong world leaders in electronics and TV production," she said. “As for NeoPark, it will be an interesting and unique project for Belarus. We want to attract young talents so that our country could develop ahead of everyone. We will devise projects of tomorrow, projects of the future. This will definitely be a breakthrough for the country and Horizont. We have already started working on the first stage of the project. These are the two buildings that our innovative NeoPark will rise from. Construction and mounting works are already in progress. Soon you will be able to see everything with your own eyes.”
