Kochanova: Belarus, Iran enjoy friendly relations, strategic partnership

MINSK, 20 August (BelTA) – Belarus and Iran enjoy friendly relations and a strategic partnership, Chairwoman of the Council of the Republic Natalya Kochanova said during a meeting with the Iranian delegation led by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Minsk on 20 August, BelTA reports.

“Belarus and Iran are very much alike in pursuing an independent foreign policy to preserve sovereignty and independence of their countries and ensure non-interference in internal affairs. The fact that you pursue a peace-loving policy, just like our president, is of fundamental importance in today's world,” Natalya Kochanova said. “The world is a very complicated place today, you are right about that. Time and again we see acts of aggression that violate all international rules and agreements.”
The speaker remarked that it is very important that the two countries enjoy good, friendly relations and a strategic partnership. “This is largely thanks to the wise policies pursued by the leaders of our countries, of course. We sincerely appreciate your kind regard for our country and our people,” Natalya Kochanova emphasized.
