MINSK, 5 December (BelTA) – The Republic of Tatarstan and Kazan itself have been actively partnering with Minsk and Belarusian enterprises for decades, Kazan Mayor Ilsur Metshin said as he shared the plans for further cooperation with Minsk after signing the agreement on twinning relations and cooperation between Minsk and Kazan, BelTA has learned.
The visit to Minsk left a positive mark on him. During the visit, the delegation identified promising areas of cooperation. The guests toured MAZ, managing company of BELAVTOMAZ holding company, the National Children's Technopark, the Educational Center for Life Safety of the Emergencies Ministry, and others.
He emphasized that the parties will cooperate even more vigorously after signing the twinning agreements.
"It is important for our children and students to communicate, our universities and businesses to share best practices. As partner cities, we have agreed to hold the Day of Minsk in Kazan and the Day of Kazan in Minsk next year," Ilsur Metshin added.
The Kazan mayor pointed out that there are direct flights connecting the cities. This gives an opportunity to interact more with each other, exchange delegations, and establish business relations.

People living in Minsk, in Belarus think that things are like this everywhere. I have traveled all over the world as the head of the international organization of municipalities. Such care for people and results are impressive. Belarusians are very hardworking people. You are great because you make your life and life in Belarus better with such love. We visited industrial enterprises yesterday. Residents of Kazan are happy to use Belarus-made public transport vehicles. Buses, trolleybuses, trams are of excellent quality, of international level," Ilsur Metshin noted.

The delegation from the capital of Tatarstan, Russia was on a working visit to Minsk on 4-5 December. The parties discussed trade, projects to set up joint ventures, and humanitarian cooperation. Kazan became Minsk's 37th sister city.
