MINSK, 10 January (BelTA) - The presidential election in Belarus is proceeding as scheduled, and no signals of emergency situations have been registered so far, CEC Chairman Igor Karpenko told the media on 10 January, BelTA has learned.
“The presidential campaign in Belarus is running in a planned mode in accordance with the law. Clear and equal conditions have been created for everyone to participate in the presidential election. During the registration of initiative groups the Central Election Commission issued four refusals on registration on undoubted reasons. Thus, all those wishing to run for the presidential post submitted documents and were registered,” Igor Karpenko said.
“There have been no signals of emergency situations,” the CEC head stated. “There has been information about the damage of the candidates’ campaign posters. Such incidents will be assessed by law enforcement bodies.”
Belarus’ presidential election is scheduled for 26 January 2025.
