
MINSK, 2 June (BelTA) - June has been declared the month of historical and cultural tourism in Belarus, BelTA learned from the National Tourism Agency.
Each month of 2025 will focus on a different type of tourism. The Belarusian Ministry of Sports and Tourism has established a classification system for different types of tourism.
Historical and cultural tourism in Belarus offers visitors a chance to explore historical, architectural, natural, and cultural landmarks.
Notable sites include fortresses, castles, palace complexes, ancestral estates, churches, monasteries, untouched nature reserves, old engineering structures, museums, ethnographic villages, and locations tied to influential historical figures.
Belarus has significant potential for cultural tourism, with several UNESCO World Heritage sites, including the Belovezhskaya Pushcha national park, the Mir Castle complex, the Nesvizh national historical and cultural museum-reserve, and the Struve Geodetic Arc. Many other sites from the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of Belarus contribute to the country's rich tourism offerings.
Another highly interesting category of tourism in Belarus is related to Soviet heritage and the Great Patriotic War history.
The National Tourism Agency has announced that the nationwide campaign "Travel. Feel. Get Inspired" was launched on 2 June, featuring over 1,400 tourism sites. The event includes doors open days, free guided tours for visitors, and special service discounts.
Tourist sites across all regions of Belarus are participating, including cultural and educational institutions, nature reserves, art and gallery spaces, museums, and more.
