MINSK, 1 July (BelTA) – July has been declared a month of outdoor tourism in Belarus, BelTA learned from the National Tourism Agency.

“The Sports and Tourism Ministry is actively promoting various types of tourism catering to a diverse range of travel preferences, so each month of the year in Belarus is dedicated to a certain type of tourism. July 2025 has been declared a month of outdoor tourism. This decision is designed to showcase the country's natural beauty and cultural heritage and to promote active recreation. It is worth noting that Belarus holds a lot of potential to become an attractive destination for adventure tourism due to its diverse landscape of forests, lakes, swamps, and fields,” the agency remarked.

Active recreation encompasses a wide range of physical activities and pursuits, including cycling, hiking, water tourism, extreme tourism, as well as eco-friendly tourism. A developed network of routes allows tailoring trips to various experience levels, ranging from leisurely family walks to challenging routes for experienced tourists. The network of water bodies, like rivers, lakes, and canals, creates perfect conditions for various water sports like kayaking, canoeing, fishing, water skiing and windsurfing. “Thrill seekers can choose from a variety of activities, including rock climbing, jeeping, quest tours, and bike trials,” the agency noted.

While promoting active tourism, special attention is paid to environmental conservation. Many tourist routes pass through protected areas. These routes incorporate rules and guidelines to make sure visitors respect the environment.
