Joint CSTO Collective Forces operation to take place as part of Interaction 2025 exercise

MINSK, 3 September (BelTA) - At the Losvido training ground, during the joint exercise Interaction 2025, commander of the Collective Rapid Reaction Forces of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Colonel Aleksei Yelfimov reported the decision to conduct a joint operation aimed at resolving a crisis situation in a CSTO member state and ensuring the deployment of a regional force grouping, BelTA learned from the joint press center of the CSTO exercises.

“The decision outlines the directions for concentrating main efforts, the primary tasks of military contingents and special forces formations, and key issues of interaction, comprehensive support, and management,” the press center said.

The meeting was attended by Chief of the CSTO Joint Staff Andrei Serdyukov. After the decision was approved, the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces command began planning the joint operation and organizing cooperation. Within the exercise, combat orders are being issued to subordinate units and military formations. 

Belarus is hosting the joint exercise Interaction 2025 with the CSTO Collective Rapid Reaction Forces, Search 2025, involving reconnaissance forces and assets, and Echelon 2025, involving material and technical support units. The exercises involve contingents from the CSTO member states: Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. These include military contingents, special forces formations from law enforcement agencies (police), security services, and special agencies authorized in emergency prevention and response, as well as operational groups from the CSTO Joint Staff and Secretariat. A total of over 2,000 military personnel and 450 units of weapons, military, and special equipment are involved, including nine combat aircraft and helicopters, and more than 70 various types of UAVs.
