MINSK, 26 January (BelTA) - Belarus has a reliable system of voter verification, Hiromichi Watanabe, an international observer from Japan, told BelTA at the polling station in Minsk State Linguistic University.
“I came to Belarus to observe how transparent, fair, and free the election is. This is the ninth polling station I visited. Now I have no doubts about the integrity of the election. The voter verification system in Japan is a bit different. I saw that it is more reliable in Belarus, because you need to produce a passport. In my country, this process is a little different,” Hiromichi Watanabe said.
He stressed that he came as a representative of an eastern country. “As you know, there was a lot of criticism from Western countries. I was interested to see this process for myself. I am very happy with what I saw here,” he emphasized.
