MINSK, 18 November (BelTA) - More than 400 migrants currently stranded on the Polish-Belarusian border are ready to leave Belarus for their homeland, spokesman for the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ahmed al-Sahhaf informed, TASS informs.
“The ministry has registered 430 Iraqi migrants to leave Belarus on an evacuation flight today," Alsumaria News TV quoted Ahmed Al-Sahhaf as saying. He added that consular officers are currently busy registering some 50 more migrants wishing to leave the area near the Polish-Belarusian border and travel to Iraq.
The flight which is due to take Iraqis home will travel en-route Minsk-Erbil-Baghdad. According to the RIA Novosti Telegram channel, the flight scheduled to evacuate Iraqis has already left Baghdad for Belarus. The registration for the flight in Minsk is open.
