MINSK, 20 May (BelTA) – All agreements and joint plans with Belarus will be implemented despite the tragic death of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian,  Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Iran to Belarus Alireza Sanei told BelTA.

“This will not affect our arrangements and relations. First Vice President, dear Mr. Mokhber who visited Belarus in October 2023, will become interim president. All agreements between our countries and joint plans will be implemented with even greater vigor,” the ambassador said.

He emphasized that bilateral relations have deep and very strong roots. Therefore, even such events cannot derail cooperation between the two states.

According to the ambassador, the Iranian foreign minister was scheduled to visit Belarus in the near future and the Iranian president was supposed to come to Minsk in October this year. Naturally, these plans and the timing of the visits will be adjusted taking into account the tragedy, but otherwise all agreements remain in place, the ambassador assured.
