MINSK, 29 November (BelTA) – An investigation was launched after a dead refugee was found in Braslav District, Vitebsk Oblast, BelTA learned from Belarus' Investigative Committee.
A dead man with Afro-Asian appearance was found in a sleeping bag near the border guard station Vidzy of the Polotsk branch of the Belarusian border service in the evening on 27 November. An investigation team was dispatched to the site.
Articles of clothing and foodstuffs were found near the dead body. No personal identification documents were found.
The investigators canvassed the locals. A forensic study was ordered to find out the exact time of death.
The Braslav District branch of Belarus' Investigative Committee has launched an investigation into the death.
