ICT, medicine, machine building among Belarus-China partnership priorities

MINSK, 26 August (BelTA) – Aleksandr Yaroshenko, head of the administration of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone, told media about priorities of the Belarusian-Chinese partnership after the opening of the Exhibition of Chinese Goods and Services 2024 on 25 August, BelTA has learned. During his recent visit to the park Premier of the State Council of the People's Republic of China Li Qiang focused on the need to deepen cooperation and international trade. "We have an opportunity. Now, we are actively implementing the Eurasian International Terminal project. We have already started to build the terminal in the Great Stone Park. This is already the second stage. During the visit we also highlighted great prospects in those areas that will give an impetus to the economic development of Belarus and China. They include information and communication technologies, clusters that have already been formed here, and machine building, which is a separate main unit. It is very important that Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko drew attention to the development of a medical cluster with the possibility of using the traditional Chinese medicine practice and experience of recovery and treatment. I believe that these areas allow the park to look to the future with confidence," Aleksandr Yaroshenko said.
By the way, the stand of the Republican Center for Medical Rehabilitation and Balneotherapy is displayed at the exhibition. The center has been cooperating with Chinese partners for many years, actively introducing high technologies and adopting the experience of traditional medicine. "We are developing several areas of cooperation: examination of Belarusian and Chinese citizens, development of joint research programs with the Rehabilitation Department of Belarusian State Medical University (BSMU), clinical trials and upgrade of equipment. In the future we plan to exchange experience both in Shanghai and in Minsk," Yelena Sushchenya, Associate Professor of the Medical Rehabilitation Department of BSMU, Head of the Center for Chronic Pain Treatment of the Republican Center for Medical Rehabilitation and Balneotherapy, said.
The center's stand presents testing equipment for diagnosing the state of the feet. If any problem is diagnosed, for example, flat feet, the center's specialists recommend orthopedic alignment. The equipment may soon be delivered to Belarusian medical centers.
