MINSK, 4 October (BelTA) - The director general of Orsha Meat Canning Plant told the STV TV channel about his reaction to the unexpected decision of the Belarusian president to appoint him head of the plant three years ago, BelTA has learned.

More than three years ago the head of state paid a visit to Orsha District. The president was primarily interested in the local meat canning plant then. It turned out that the construction of the new plant had been considerably delayed. Aleksandr Lukashenko cleared up the reasons for the delay, and immediately made an unexpected decision to appoint a new head of the plant. Maksim Bakurov became the new head of the enterprise.

Now, several years later, the director general of Orsha Meat Canning Plant admits that he would like the appointment to go slightly different. He adds, however, everything that happens happens for the best. “It should have been so. We need to work and, most importantly, to do our best not to fail. When you are appointed by the head of state, you understand that you cannot fail in any way,” Maksim Bakurov said.

A few months after the appointment the president visited the meat canning plant again. The visit was not planned, and the news that the head of state was coming caught Maksim Bakurov right during the work in the field. “I cam there right from the farm, wearing jeans. I apologized to the head of state for my looks, but nothing could be done then,” he recalls.

Maлыim Bakurov is from Gorki where he attended the agricultural academy. This, among other things, determined the choice of profession. “It is good that it turned out this way, because I love my job and love doing what I do. Probably nothing can be compared to getting satisfaction from one’s work,” he concluded.
