GRODNO, 21 January (BelTA) - Beds prepared for COVID-19 coe patients are being re-purposed in Grodno Oblast. Grodno City Clinical Hospital No.3 is returning back to normal operations, BelTA learned from the General Healthcare Directorate of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.
Recently, the number of cases of acute respiratory infections and pneumonia has been decreasing in Grodno Oblast. So beds reserved for COVID-19 are being re-purposed back. One of the first hospitals to fully return to normal will be Grodno City Clinical Hospital No.3, which previously admitted patients with coronavirus.
The hospital is now busy disinfecting its premises and other preparatory activities. The hospital will start elective surgeries on 22 January. The neurological, therapeutic, cardiological and neuropsychiatric wards will resume services soon.
The General Healthcare Directorate said that healthcare facilities in all districts of Grodno Oblast are returning to business as usual. First of all, this applies to the most demanded wards such as therapeutic ones. In Grodno, the university hospital has re-launched the nephrology ward.
Now more than 300 beds have been re-purposed back to normal service in Grodno Oblast. The epidemiological situation is improving. Since February is usually a time for a seasonal increase in the incidence of acute respiratory infections every year, Grodno Oblast is applying a "nuanced" approach.
