GOMEL, 31 January (BelTA) – Governor of Belarusian Gomel Oblast Ivan Krupko and his counterpart from Russia’s Bryansk Oblast Alexander Bogomaz paid tribute to the heroes of the Great Patriotic War in a ceremony at the Eternal Flame memorial in Gomel, BelTA has learned.
In mournful silence, the participants of the rally commemorated the great feat of those who sacrificed their lives during the Great Patriotic War to give future generations a peaceful sky, freedom and independence.
Flowers and wreaths were laid at the mass grave of Soviet soldiers and underground movement fighters. A minute's silence was observed in memory of the heroes who bravely fought for the Fatherland.
