GOMEL, 7 January (BelTA) - Agricultural organizations in Gomel Oblast have been assigned patrons, and the specific types of work that industrial enterprises will provide, both in terms of manpower and machinery, have been defined, Gomel Oblast Governor Ivan Krupko told the media following his report to Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 7 January, BelTA has learned.
The Gomel Oblast governor reported to the president on the implementation of instructions following last yearps meeting in Vitebsk, which was dedicated to the operations of agro-industrial organizations. This includes mobilizing workers from industrial enterprises to support agricultural organizations.
“We approached the head of state’s instructions very seriously. We analyzed the tasks set by the president, conducted a survey of our industrial enterprises and organizations from other sectors that could lend a shoulder as patrons to farms. In fact, a decision by the oblast executive committee was made in November: patrons have been assigned to agricultural organizations. We defined the types of work enterprises will provide, both with manpower and machinery,” Ivan Krupko explained.
The fundamental aspects of work in this area have been formalized in writing.
Additionally, an extended meeting was held in the region at the level of Head of Belarus President Administration, Presidential Authorized Representative in Gomel Oblast Yuri Nazarov, which took place in Chechersk District.
“We discussed all areas and plans quarterly, what will be done at agricultural enterprises. Of course, there is a need for substantial investments, which require a certain timeframe and planned funding, but issues of establishing order and organizing technologies must be resolved immediately. Since December, we have been holding meetings every two weeks in specific districts where a decline in production is noted or other issues require attention. We analyze what has been done during the period and, through the efforts of patrons, the enterprises themselves, and the districts, we work out technical parameters to increase the most important thing - production output and establishing perfect order on the premises of agricultural facilities. This is indeed yielding results,” the governor emphasized.

In general, the head of state was informed that Gomel Oblast performed quite well in 2025 according to all indicators. “All indicators are above the 2024 level,” the governor said.
The morning report to the president also covered the situation in the southeastern region amid heavy snowfall.
