GOMEL, 18 October (BelTA) - The Not Boring Not-Lectures was held at the Gomel State College of Design and Computer Graphics as part of the national social and cultural action Marathon of Unity on 18 October, BelTA learned.
At the beginning of the meeting, Deputy Education Minister Yekaterina Petrutskaya asked college students what, in their opinion, "not boring" means. "This is when people are interesting, unconventional, creative. When they find something funny to say even in a sad situation," the audience answered.
"My answer is active, positive, curious. My mother’s – those who press forward no matter life circumstances," Yekaterina Petrutskaya said.
The topic of choice was also put up for debates. "Choice is an opportunity that always exists. Choice is an action that a person performs for himself and others. Choice is what we have and what we want," the students said. Yekaterina Petrutskaya emphasized that there are no wrong answers to this question and in general at the Not Boring Not-Lectures.
Speaking with journalists, she noted: the topic of choice is very relevant for young people. “Each of us faces choices every day. One cannot say that there is a simple choice or a difficult choice. And we discuss with guys how important it is to make the right choice, what to pay attention to and what tools and mechanisms to use,” Yekaterina Petrutskaya explained.
The young participants of the “Not-boring not-lectures” meetings are now at the most wonderful age, noted the deputy education minister. “They are on the threshold of adulthood. They have many difficult choices ahead, including the choice of a life partner. They have already chosen a professional field, but ahead is the choice of their first place of work, their professional development. And, of course, the future of our country depends on their choice,” she emphasized.
Yekaterina Petrutskaya remarked that the conversation is taking place in an unusual format - this is an interactive lesson with elements of training. "We invite the guys to actively engage in the discussion. We want them to think about these choices and realize that they have all the tools, all the mechanisms to make the right choice,” Yekaterina Petrutskaya emphasized.
"In fact, it is a very non-boring lecture. You learn a lot of new things, but not like at a regular lecture. During the ‘Not-lecture’ we discussed very important things, but in everyday language. Everyone was able to pitch in," college student Anna Denisenko shared her impressions.
"Certainly, it is pleasing that this is a class without marks, but with nice bonuses and gifts given for our answers," she added.
Future graphic designer Anastasia Migacheva is convinced that such meetings are necessary and important. "Speakers with extensive life and professional experience in various fields tell young people what life is all about and explain the most complicated issues in an easy-to-understand way," she explained.
