MINSK, 31 May (BelTA) – Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko told reporters about the participants and agenda of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting to be held in Belarus on 3-4 June, BelTA has learned.
Roman Golovchenko spoke about the participants of the meeting. “According to preliminary information, all the prime ministers will be there. Armenia will probably be represented by a deputy prime minister. Uzbekistan, which is an observer country, will send its prime minister to the event. The prime minister of Azerbaijan will be the guest of honor,” he said.
The Belarusian head of government explained the interest of his foreign counterparts in this event. “We will hold a plenary session on EAEU food security. I know that my counterparts are preparing substantive speeches on this important issue,” he noted. “The agenda is traditionally extensive. There are a number of issues that need to be discussed and solutions that need to be found.”
During the meeting, the assessment of the customs value of goods will also be discussed. “Many import flows are now being redirected. Therefore, we need to make sure that there is no underestimation of their customs value and that our countries do not lose budget revenue,” the prime minister added.
Roman Golovchenko emphasized that he will discuss the outcomes of the talks once they are over.
