Ghanaian delegation studying waste management practices in Belarus

MINSK, 26 May (BelTA) – Representatives of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of Belarus and a delegation from Ghana have discussed best practices in waste management, BelTA learned from the press service of the ministry.

“The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection has hosted a large delegation representing a private company from Ghana that specializes in sanitation and waste management. This company makes a significant contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals in the African region. During the negotiations, the parties exchanged expertise and knowledge in the field of waste management, including the operation of landfills, extraction and recycling of secondary resources,” the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection noted.

During the talks, the Ghanaian delegation expressed gratitude for the detailed answers to their questions. In turn, First Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Aleksandr Korbut expressed readiness to provide his counterparts with information of interest about legislation and law enforcement practices in the field of waste management.
