MINSK, 31 July (BelTA) – Former head of a regional branch of the opposition party Narodnaya Gromada Olga Tishkevich told the ONT TV channel why representatives of the self-exiled opposition in Lithuania planned to attack Belarus with drones.

Earlier, Olga Tishkevich said that Belarusian radicals in Lithuania had purchased about 20 drones to hit the territory of Belarus. Speaking about the planned drone attacks, Olga Tishkevich brought up the name of Pavel Beliutin, former member of the Vilnius “khorugv” unit and Narodnaya Gromada. He is known as a mentally unstable person. Pavel Beliutin is prone to terrorism, was close to Nikolai Avtukhovich and shared the idea of violent change of power in Belarus.

“I saw one of the drones in Pasha's [Pavel Beliutin's] apartment. His friend Vitalik rented the apartment with him. I brought him things from Karach, he unpacked a drone and asked: what is this? I said: close it, it's some box from China, some kind of aircraft. The box was very long, white, and there was something written in Chinese. Pasha said that they wanted to hit Belarus,” said Olga Tishkevich.

The following Belarusian towns were named as targets: Ostrovets, Braslav and Smorgon. According to the former opposition activist, they planned to attack energy facilities with drones from the territory of Lithuania: “In other words, to destroy Belarus' power generating capacity. We know what facility is located in Ostrovets. A nuclear power plant. These are my assumptions. Pasha said that they wanted to cause power outage in Belarus.”

As Olga Tishkevich explained, it all started with the arrival in Poland of a person from Ukraine who specialized in operating drones. He suggested that the “khorugv” units in Poland and Lithuania embark on drone operation training. “Thus, they came up with such a plan,” she emphasized.
