Footage of Ukrainian UAVs shot down by Belarus’ air defense released

MINSK, 10 August (BelTA) - The Belarus 1 TV channel has released the footage of downed drones that traveled from the territory of Ukraine towards the Republic of Belarus and violated the Belarusian airspace, BelTA has learned.

Teams of specialists of the Emergencies Ministry, internal affairs bodies, and the armed forces detected and identified Ukrainian drones which flew from the Ukrainian territory and violated the airspace of Belarus. As the TV broadcast noted, the investigation of the wreckage revealed an electric engine, electronic components from NATO countries, an active multi-frequency antenna of U.S. make, a Belgian navigation system. Presumably, the downed drones were assembled jointly with NATO engineers.

As BelTA has reported earlier, on 9 August the standby air defense forces detected unidentified air objects traveling from the territory of Ukraine in the direction of the Republic of Belarus. In order to timely suppress a possible violation of the state border in the Belarusian airspace, the designated forces and means were put on high alert. After crossing the state border, the aerial targets were classified as unmanned aerial vehicles and destroyed.

Military units of special operations forces, ground forces, missile forces, including Polonez missile systems and Iskander complexes, have received tasks to march to the designated areas.
