MINSK, 2 April (BelTA) - Minsk is set to strengthen cooperation with Penza Oblast of Russia both in economy and culture, Minsk First Vice Mayor Nadezhda Lazarevich told the media ahead of the economic forum held as part of the Days of Penza Oblast in Minsk on 2 April, BelTA has learned.
According to Nadezhda Lazarevich, the economic forum, held within the Days of Penza Oblast in Minsk, is a very important event. “We have been working very closely with Penza Oblast for the last two years. As part of the current visit of the Russian region's representatives together with Penza Oblast Governor Oleg Melnichenko, we have already visited the Minsk Technopark. Today’s forum will be attended by more than 100 business entities from Minsk and other regions. Indeed, the region is interesting to us. This is an industrial and agricultural region. We have a lot to offer,” Nadezhda Lazarevich said.
The delegation of the Russian region showed big interest in the work of the technopark and some of the enterprises they have toured during their visit, the first vice mayor added. “I am sure that the parties will confirm the relations with new contracts in the near future. When there is an open dialogue of top officials and governors, then it is easier for us to interact and we can say with full confidence that we have support. We will move forward and increase trade with Penza Oblast,” Nadezhda Lazarevich said.
Minsk intends to strengthen its positions not only in the economy, but also in culture, she emphasized. “We are hosting the Days of Penza Oblast. We will hear national songs. There will also be a fair and tasting events,” the Minsk first vice mayor said.
