MINSK, 28 May (BelTA) – The bill on constitutional amendments will be discussed by Belarusian MPs at the spring session, Deputy Chairman of the Standing Committee on State Construction, Local Government and Regulations of the House of Representatives Viktor Svillo told reporters on 28 May, BelTA has learned.
“A special commission has been put together today to prepare the bill for the first reading. The deadline is 4 June, and the bill should pass the first reading by the end of this session at the latest. The second reading will be mandatory because in line with Article 139, bills concerning constitutional amendments should pass two considerations with an interval of at least three months,” the MP said.
According to the MP, the special commission includes people with great experience. It is chaired by Chairman of the Standing Committee on State Building, Local Government and Regulations of the House of Representatives Valentin Semenyako.
