MINSK, 23 May (BelTA) – The first day cover ceremony honoring the Year of Education of the Republic of Belarus in China was held today in the Minsk Town Hall and was attended by Belarus Education Minister Igor Karpenko, China's Vice Education Minister Tian Xuejun and Director General of the Belpochta mail service Vladimir Matusevich, BelTA has learned.
The stamped envelope has been prepared by Belpochta in cooperation with the Education of Belarus and the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone.
“I am sure that today's ceremony will be remembered by all participants of the Year of Education of Belarus in China. I also sincerely hope that through the joint efforts of the education ministries and various circles of the public we will be able to put into this envelope a long list of our achievements and will raise the level of bilateral cooperation in education between China and Belarus,” Tian Xuejun said.
By the decision of the Belarusian-Chinese intergovernmental Committee for Cooperation the year of 2019 has been declared the Year of Education in China. It aims to establish direct contacts between universities of the two countries, to further cooperation in the field of education and research, to establish study centers of Belarus and introduce the major “Belarusian language” in higher educational institutions in China, to promote academic mobility, enhance mutual understanding and traditional friendship between the peoples of the two countries.
