Fire drill organized at Belarusian nuclear power plant

MINSK, 21 July (BelTA) – A plantwide fire drill for personnel and Emergencies Ministry units took place at the Belarusian nuclear power plant, the Information and Public Relations Office of the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant told BelTA.

As part of the fire drill the personnel practiced fighting a fire and allowing firefighters and rescue workers to enter a restricted-access zone. The personnel were trained how to identify an emergency. Their readiness for an evacuation and for helping fight a fire was checked.

Apart from that, the personnel practiced their ability to independently, promptly, and without fault know their way around in a possible threat scenario or in an actual fire scenario, determine the decisive course of action, and take the right measures meant to prevent, localize, and extinguish a fire and protect human lives.
