FAO representative praises constructive cooperation with Belarus

MINSK, 27 October (BelTA) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to Hungary Vladimir Ulakhovich met with FAO (United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization) Assistant Director-General and Regional Representative for Europe and Central Asia Vladimir Rakhmanin, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Hungary.

The Belarusian side was told about the main areas of work and achievements of the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia based in Budapest. The Belarusian diplomat, in turn, outlined the key principles of Belarus' agricultural policy that helps ensure sustainable and efficient development of agriculture and food production in the country.

The parties discussed cooperation framework and FAO projects in Belarus and welcomed the constructive and consistent nature of interaction.

During the talks, Vladimir Ulakhovich and Vladimir Rakhmanin touched upon international partnerships and the exchange of best practices in ensuring food security. They also praised the successful expert dialogue between FAO and the Eurasian Economic Commission.
