"On Point"
MINSK, 13 September (BelTA) - Poland's decision to close its border with Belarus is an act of madness, Doctor of Historical Sciences, political analyst Nikolai Platoshkin said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
Poland has recently completely closed its border with Belarus, allegedly due to fears over Belarusian-Russian military exercises. Even earlier, Poland had curtailed all activity on the border with Russia's Kaliningrad Oblast.
“I cannot understand it. Well, you don't like Lukashenko, Putin - that's your right. What does that have to do with the residents of the border regions? The Finns also closed the border and now local entrepreneurs are whining. What did they achieve by this? What was the goal?” Nikolai Platoshkin asked. “After all, this is a two-way street. Polish citizens have graves in the territory of Western Belarus. Why can't they visit them? What's wrong here? It's just some kind of madness.”
