MINSK, 5 February (BelTA) – American IT specialists who are engaged in advanced research are kept on a short leash by the Pentagon, Russian political scientist, leader of the Essence of Time movement in Russia Sergei Kurginyan told the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
“There was a story about geniuses who assembled a computer in some barn and called it Apple. They had no money, and then became multimillionaires, billionaires, and so on. But this is just an interpretation of a classic American myth about a bootblack who can become a millionaire! This is the basis of American existence. But Apple is part of the US defense industry complex. This is DARPA [Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency of the US Department of Defense] in today's language,” Sergei Kurginyan said.
According to him, IT specialists who are engaged in artificial intelligence, information networks and other promising developments in the United States are part of the Pentagon. “They are kept on such a short leash by the Pentagon that there is no room for maneuver,” he emphasized.
Going back to the myth that any American can become a millionaire, Sergei Kurginyan cited the biography of Elon Musk. “Who was the grandfather of this Musk? He was an American who left the United States for South Africa. There was a flourishing society of technocrats there. And this technocracy was experiencing a boom. So can't we say that this boom gave rise to Musk? Where do these billions come from, whose are they? What will happen next? What are these guys capable of? Anything,” the political scientist remarked.
