Expert: Situation on the ground will force Kiev to agree to a full peace treaty

MINSK, 12 September (BelTA) – The situation on the ground will force Kiev to agree to a full peace treaty, Russian journalist and military expert, editor-in-chief of the Russian National Defense Magazine, said in the latest episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA's YouTube channel.
“Russia continues the special military operation; its goals and objectives have not changed. Today, along the entire line of combat contact, Russian military groupings are experiencing combat success and combat luck. We are advancing, and the enemy, while putting up a fight, is nevertheless retreating. One way or another, the situation on the ground will force [Vladimir] Zelensky, or whoever comes after him, to acknowledge the existing situation and enter into a full-fledged peace treaty,” Igor Korotchenko said.

The expert also commented on the European Union's position regarding a peace agreement that might be reached between Russia and the USA. “I don't think they [the EU countries] will accept it. They will actively throw a spanner in the works,” he said.

The expert emphasized that Moscow is carefully analyzing the situation and is fully aware of the potential risks and threats from the West. This is especially true regarding the elites of the European Union and the UK, he added. “Of course, we are weighing the situation and are ready with the response options that the circumstances will require,” Igor Korotchenko concluded.
