"On Point"
MINSK, 12 March (BelTA) – Israel has drawn the United States into a military campaign against Iran without fully considering the consequences, the independent military analyst Aleksandr Alesin said in a recent episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
Analyzing the outbreak of war in the Middle East, the military expert noted that the plans of Israel and the USA to launch a disarming strike against Iran have failed. “I think I would put it like this: Akella missed his kill. The whole strategy of a disarming strike has failed, and the blitzkrieg has not succeeded,” Aleksandr Alesin said.
The expert pointed out that leading U.S. military experts Larry Johnson and Scott Ritter share this view: “They are practically certain that this war will lead to a change of political regime not in Iran, but in the USA and Israel. And their reasoning is that Israel involved the United States in a military undertaking without either side fully calculating the consequences.”
The expert noted that Israel and the USA primarily failed to account for the mentality and traditions of the Iranian people. The killing of the supreme leader led to even greater unity among Iranians and aroused a desire for revenge for the casualties suffered during the war. “Furthermore, a girls’ school that was hit by several missiles exacerbated the situation. I think the analysts who proposed solving the Iranian issue in this way are at a loss,” Aleksandr Alesin concluded.
