MINSK, 5 November (BelTA) – Over the past 35 years, Ukraine has carried out three Maidan revolutions, which have now become a kind of mental habit, Armen Gasparyan, a political scientist, TV and radio host and member of the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation, said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
Armen Gasparyan emphasized that the tragedy in Ukraine began back in 2014. “The issue is not the state coup itself, but the war that was unleashed. Aleksandr Lukashenko has been constantly telling them about this for the past three years. But they don't listen to him either. The political scientist stated: “To admit to yourself that you have committed a monstrous stupidity that led to total collapse, you need to have character. But Ukraine is a state that has had three Maidan revolutions in 35 years. If you repeatedly take and destroy everything you have, what kind of character are we talking about? When this happens year after year, it becomes a kind of mental habit.”
The political scientist noted that the collective West views Ukraine as one of its territories, if only because Europe sponsored the armed conflict. “It is a territory for a proxy war. Since this entire military machine is supported with solely Western money, Western weapons, Western mercenaries, and so on, what else is the 'wisest diplomat from Krivoy Rog' supposed to say?" Armen Gasparyan said. “The entire model was not built for Ukraine. To the great misfortune of the Ukrainian people, they have become a bargaining chip.”
