"On Point"
MINSK, 10 May (BelTA) – The U.S. politics, which produces the appearance of a real alternation of power and democracy, can be compared to a game of thimbles, Russian historian, director of the Institute for Systemic and Strategic Analysis Andrei Fursov said in a new episode of the project V Teme [On Point] on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“The last U.S. president who tried to play an independent game was [Richard] Nixon. Thank God he stayed alive - he was just impeached. [John F.] Kennedy was assassinated, and his family was punished down three generations. After Nixon, U.S. presidents were given very clear instructions what they could do and what they could not. Because the real masters of the USA and the world realized that it was necessary to prevent the appearance of such presidents,” said Andrei Fursov.
The historian pointed out that since the 1970s the presidents of Western countries, who made decisions independently, began to leave their posts. Andrei Fursov cited Charles de Gaulle as an example. He was replaced as leader of France by absolutely faceless people. François Mitterrand declared that after him France would be led by a globalist, although, according to Andrei Fursov, Mitterrand was a globalist himself. “He was a bit turned to the French past, but he did a lot for the globalization of France,” the historian said.
As for the independence of U.S. presidents, Andrei Fursov expressed the opinion that after Donald Trump’s presidency, representatives of the real power in the USA will have two possible scenarios. One of them is to let the current Vice President J.D. Vance take power. The second scenario involves launching “young predatory Democrats”. These people, like Donald Trump, will be breaking the old world, but they will be doing it in a different way.
“It may well look like a game of thimbles: at first someone breaks it a little, then others break it more,” Andrei Fursov said. At the same time, they will be showing their voters a picture of a real alternation of power and democracy. “This is a pure game of thimbles. The task of the world's top brass (both globalists and ultra-globalists) is to break the old world in order to build their own. Everyone is interested in breaking it. But who is going to skin the cream off is an absolutely different topic to discuss,” the expert said.
