MINSK, 4 January (BelTA) – The National State Television and Radio Company (Belteleradiocompany) has announced the start of the application period for the national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021, BelTA learned from the Belarus 1 TV channel.
Belteleradiocompany acts as the organizer of the national selection as Belarus' only representative in the European Broadcasting Union. Applications should be sent via Belteleradiocompany's official website www.tvr.by. The rules of the contest are also available on the website.
For the first time in the history of the Belarusian national selection, applicants are asked to send a video recording of their live performance. Eligible to compete are solo artists and groups of up to six people from Belarus and abroad aged 16 and older. An artist can submit only one application.
In line with the rules of the contest, a song must not be released commercially yet and must not exceed three minutes in length. The song can be in any language. The application period will close on 31 January. Belteleradiocompany will decide on the format of the final taking into account the epidemiological situation.
The winner of the national selection will represent Belarus at the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 in Rotterdam.
