Euronews channel off the air in Belarus

MINSK, 12 April (BelTA) – The Belarusian Information Ministry struck the foreign TV channel Euronews off the list of mass media outlets allowed to operate in Belarus on 12 April as the channel's permit to broadcast in Belarus had expired, BelTA learned from the Information Ministry.

On 12 April, the Pobeda TV channel went on air in Belarus. It is a Russian TV channel about the Great Patriotic War within the framework of the large-scale Digital TV Family project of Russia's Channel One that was launched in the run-up to the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. The channel broadcasts Soviet films about the war, Russian films and shows, documentaries about the Great Patriotic War, programs about war veterans and search expeditions, interviews with historians and experts.

“The Pobeda TV channel tells about the most important event in the history of the previous century – the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. We hope that the new channel will appeal to our viewers, especially to veterans of the Great Patriotic War,” the Information Ministry noted.
