Eismont reveals process of broadcasting Lukashenko’s events live

MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) - Press Secretary of the Belarusian president Natalya Eismont detailed on the preparation of live broadcasts with the participation of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko and what he thinks about this format in the Vremya Pervogo [Time of the First] project on the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

Journalists pointed out that Aleksandr Lukashenko often demonstrates openness towards the public. Many events with his participation are broadcast live. In this regard, the press secretary was asked about the president's attitude towards live broadcasting and how decisions are made about which events will be aired. Natalya Eismont explained that six months ago, the new First News TV channel was launched, which features many live broadcasts. "It became clear that we need live broadcasting, and direct coverage is very important for viewers. To be honest, not all ministries and agencies were open to this format. So here, at the Palace of Independence, we decided to set the trend and be pioneers in this area," she said.

The idea of broadcasting events live more frequently was proposed to Aleksandr Lukashenko, and, according to Natalya Eismont, he responded "absolutely positively". There is no need for his approval every time: it is enough to inform him in advance so that he is aware of the plans.

"The president is ready for any event that we all deem necessary to be broadcast live. It makes no difference to him whether we work offline and the president’s press pool covers the event later, or we go live," Natalya Eismont emphasized.
