MINSK, 31 December (BelTA) – Interest in the Belarusian president’s merch Pervy [First] is not waning, Press Secretary of the President of Belarus Natalya Eismont said on the air of the Belarus One TV channel, BelTA has learned.
“I am very grateful to all Belarusians, to all our people for their continued strong interest in Pervy merch,” the press secretary said.
Natalya Eismont pointed out that T-shirts printed with what have become iconic Lukashenko sayings remain as popular as ever.
Adding to the product range this year is a festive Christmas tree ornament: a white Spitz, a clear nod to the president’s famous pet, Umka.
The first batch of the ornament sold out literally within a day. An additional batch was released recently, but as Natalya Eismont said, it has also been sold out already. As has the presidential calendar.
“We are delighted that through such a simple, personal, and down-to-earth channel, people can feel connected to the world of major politics, and that they desire to bring a piece of it into their homes. This speaks volumes,” the press secretary said.
