Eismont describes exhibition of gifts to president as unique

MINSK, 20 January (BelTA) - Press Secretary of the Belarusian president Natalya Eismont attended the exhibition of gifts to the president With Love and Gratitude, which is on display within the framework of the Marathon of Unity in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

“The Marathon of Unity came to Minsk with a huge number of events: exhibitions, flash mobs, concerts. Certainly, I am very happy to take part in the opening of a unique exhibition of gifts to the president from the labor collectives of our country. This is a unique experience. The exhibits from the Palace of Independence are travelling around the country. This wonderful idea belongs to the organizers of the marathon,” Natalya Eismont said.
The press secretary stressed that the museum of gifts in the Palace of Independence houses over 1,000 exhibits. “Tens of thousands of people visit the Palace of Independence every year on tours. They are always welcomed there. I would like to note that gifts in the Palace of Independence are always a matter of interest for our visitors, including foreign ones. Many of our Russian friends and guests from the whole post-Soviet space come to visit us and, when they see the museum of gifts, they always say: 'We do not have anything like this.' This is certainly very pleasant to hear,” she added.
Natalya Eismont pointed out that the museum displays a lot of gifts from foreign leaders, friends and guests, but a special section includes gifts from Belarusian enterprises. “It is these gifts that are on display today at the National Library. We know that the president travels a lot around the country, visits many enterprises, and takes part in the development of each enterprise. Certainly, the president's visit to an enterprise is always a very important event. The labor collective wants to please the president with something, present him with a gift,” the press secretary of the Belarusian leader emphasized.
Natalya Eismont said that all gifts to the president are sent to the Palace of Independence: “The most attentive of you, who watch TV reports to the end, know that the president always gives a very clear order to take the gifts to the Palace of Independence. I can tell you with certainty that all gifts arrive at the Palace of Independence and find their place there."

At the initiative of the Marathon of Unity organizers, the exhibition of the gifts to the president from labor collectives travelled across the country. “We were very happy to hear that the exhibition attracted genuine interest. We are certainly happy about this. People feel involved in these events. They are interested in them. I believe that the exhibition will attract as much interest in Minsk,” Natalya Eismont said.

As a part of the nationwide public and cultural campaign Marathon of Unity, the National Library of Belarus is hosting an exhibition With Love and Gratitude. The exhibition displays gifts to the Belarusian president from labor collectives from 2000 to 2024. Residents and visitors of Minsk can see a variety of gifts presented to Aleksandr Lukashenko.

The exhibition features diverse items: paintings, souvenirs, models of machinery, scientific developments and others.
