MINSK, 14 March (BelTA) - The slogan of the World Youth Festival was Let's start the future together!. This suggests that all participants of this large-scale event had the opportunity to show themselves, Tatiana Minchenko, Deputy Head of the Youth Affairs Department with the Directorate of Educational Work and Youth Policy at the Education Ministry, deputy head of the Belarusian delegation to Sochi, said at a press conference in BelTA’s press center to discuss the results of the Belarusian delegation's visit to the World Youth Festival, which was held in Russia’s Sochi on 1-7 March.

“The Belarusian delegation presented the country, showed its achievements. When we carried our flag, everyone chanted:"Belarus! It is really exciting and overwhelming to hear the world chanting ‘Belarus!’ I hope that this is only the beginning of our long and very good journey under the auspices of the World Youth Festival, the youth policy in Belarus," Tatiana Minchenko said.

More than 600 people from Belarus took part in the festival. "Our delegation was the most numerous. In total, more than 2,500 applications were submitted. It was very difficult for the national preparatory committee to put together a delegation. It was difficult for us to choose from the sea of essays. The most deserving guys made it to the national delegation. It included representatives from all regions of the country, from all public organizations. The delegation comprised young parliamentarians, young scientists, participants of the Pedagogical Debut contest, young specialists, teachers, representatives of industry, economy.

The program of the festival was very packed and included an incredible number of press conferences, roundtables, sessions, meetings with top politicians, bloggers of Russia and the international community. Famous actors, composers met with the children, young people attended ice shows,” Tatiana Minchenko said.
